About First Time Voting
Where is my polling place?
• Your polling place location is listed on your voter’s
identification card. If you
have not received your card, contact your county board of elections.
• Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Visit www.votespa.com to locate
your polling place address and directions.
What identification will I need?
All voters who appear at a polling place for the first time must show
proof of
identification. Approved forms of photo identification include:
• a Pennsylvania driver’s license or PENNDOT ID card
• ID issued by any Commonwealth agency
• ID issued by the U.S. Government
• U.S. passport
• U.S. Armed Forces ID
• Student ID
• Employee ID
Non-photo identification must include the voter’s name and address.
(Non-photo ID
may be used when the voter does not have photo ID.) Approved forms of
non-photo
identification include:
• Voter’s ID card issued by voter registration commission
• Non-photo ID issued by the Commonwealth
• Non-photo ID issued by the U.S. Government
• Firearm permit
• Current utility bill
• Current bank statement
• Current paycheck
• Government check
What should I do if I need assistance while voting?
Voters who are disabled, have physical limitations or have limited English
proficiency
can ask for assistance at the polling place. Voters may also contact their
county voter
registration office before election day to ask for assistance.
What if I have a complaint?
Any voter who wishes to file a formal complaint may visit www.votespa.com
to
download a “Statement of Complaint” through the HAVA (Help
America Vote Act) link,
or request a complaint form at the polling place.
