Developers and Resource CouncilKids Around TownŽ (KAT) was developed by the League of Women Voters of Pennyslvania's Citizenship Education Fund in cooperation with Sharon Kletzien, Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Literacy, School of Education, West Chester University.DevelopersSharon B. Kletzien, Ph.D, Director,
is the chair of the Department of Literacy at West Chester University
in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She taught in public schools for fifteen
years before joining the West Chester faculty. Her doctorate is in
Educational Psychology from Temple University, her M.A. in International
Studies from American University, and her B.A. from West Texas State
University. She has been a member of the League of Women Voters of
Springfield Area for twenty years and has served in many different
capacities, including president. Sharon is active in several national
educational organizations and has numerous publications. Her primary
interests are reading, language arts and civic education. Emeritus Resource CouncilUnder the LWVPA-CEF's Board of Trustees, the KAT Steering Committee has been fortunate to benefit from an extraordinary Resource Council, members of which have the expertise and prestige of the respected statewide organizations they led in the late 1990s.
