Absentee Ballot Information
You may vote by mail if you are a registered voter and will be absent from
your municipality on Election Day because of military service, illness, physical
disability, business duties, occupation, or vacation.
You can apply for an absentee ballot no sooner than 50 days before the election
and no later than 5:00 PM on the Tuesday preceding the election, except in cases
of emergency (consult Board of Elections)
There are four steps to absentee voting:
- Request an official application form in person, by mail, phone, or online
from: County Board of Elections, Union County Government Center, 155 North
15th St, Lewisburg, PA 17837; 570-524-3891 or 570-524-8682; www.unionco.org,
select "Government Offices", click on "Voter Registration and
Elections", then choose "Absentee Ballot Information" from
the panel on the right.
- Return the completed application form.
- When you receive your ballot, vote.
- Return the ballot by 5:00 PM of the Friday before the election. If an emergency
arises after Tuesday and before the 5:00 PM deadline of the Friday in the
week preceding the election, an emergency application may be obtained from
the County Board of Elections either in person, by mail, or by an adult acting
on behalf of the applicant.
