LWV Bucks County: report on New Voting Machines

Our Members, Friends, and Patrons Are Our Most Valuable Resources

We need your input and expertise. Our members and our Patrons keep us going with financial support and so do our friends who are not members but who donate or give of their time to attend events and get the word out.
A Grassroots Organization makes everyone in the community a part of our effort. We count on you our members and friends to come forward and participate in studies and every aspect of the League of Women Voters of Lower Merion and Narberth.

In Memoriam, Sandy Seidman

The Steering Committee of LWV of Lower Merion and Narberth are sad to receive news of Sandy Seidman's passing. Sandy came to us from Florida where her unique energy and abilities culminated in fundraising millions of dollars for the causes nearest to her heart. Her energy and input were invaluable and our League has her to thank for a mass of phone calls that generated attendence and interest in the Legislative Interviews in February 2007. As the Steering Committee members will attest, Sandy didn't get lost in the problems, she saw the solutions.

In Sarosota she worked for organizations that aided those lacking the opportunities to succeed.
She was a past president of Planned Parenthood of Sarasota and later served on the Board of Directors at First Step of Sarasota. Closest to Sandy's heart was the Mothers & Infants, a special residential program for pregnant women struggling with addiction. In 2004, she began chairing the Caring Hearts Luncheon an event that promoted awareness and funding. In 2007, First Step began the Sandy Seidman Second Step Fund in honor of Sandy's commitment and passion to the mothers and babies, this fund awards financial vouchers, or scholarships, to women graduating from the program as they are returning to the community.

We will miss Sandy's energy, intelligence, and problem solving skills. Her profound compassion for struggling and suffering human beings made her loved by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions can be made to Sandy Seidman Second Step Fund Development Office, First Step of Sarasota, 1970 Main St., 5th Floor, Sarasota FL 34236.
