LWV Lackawanna County is pleased to host the 2005 LWVPA Convention on June 3 – 5, 2005 at The University of Scranton. Because we’re using University facilities, we believe that pricing will be a little more affordable this year. Both dormitory housing (for only $60 per person for two nights) and hotel rooms (at the Hilton for $79 per night – double occupancy) will be available.

The theme of this year’s convention is “Electrifying Democracy”. Menus have been selected and we’re working on the topics for workshops and speakers. If you have any suggestions or would like to serve on the convention committee, please let Andrea know.

In addition, since we’ll be celebrating the League’s 85th birthday, we’d like to put together a pictorial display of the Suffragist Movement and the early days of the League in Pennsylvania. If you have any pictures or documents you’d like to share, please contact Andrea. We’ll discuss formats, etc.

Hope to see you in June!
