Democracy Rising Initiative
I attended the following meetings regarding a new initiative named Democracy Rising:
9.07.04, 9.16.04 and 10.20.04. This plan, discussed at the board’s October 22nd pre-meeting briefing by Mr. Tim Potts would strive to reverse the unresponsiveness of the legislature to groups and constituents as well as the unconstitutional manner in which legislation has been passed through the last several decades. Groups attending these meetings include PennFuture, PA Council of Churches, Common Cause, and the Commonwealth Foundation. The goal is to expand this group to include a diverse representation of interests.
