The LWVPA Web site had a huge spike in usage over the November election period. The League remains the “go-to” place for voter information!

In order to allow for future growth and save some money, we’ll be moving the LWVPA site to a new Web host over the next month or so. This will require a change for all local Leagues who are using the LWVPA site to host their own information. Those Leagues affected by the change will be contacted with instructions when the changes are about to take place.

In addition, LWVPA will purchase a domain name (www.palwv.org) and will eventually move to eliminate the use of our subdomain with LWVUS (pa.lwv.org). This change will be made gradually over a period of 12 – 18 months so LWVPA and all of the local Leagues affected will have time to update printed material with the Web address and make contact with sites that are linked to us. During the transition time, users will be able to find our site by using either pa.lwv.org or www.palwv.org. We’ll communicate with the affected Leagues when the changes take place.

The board reviewed the Publications section of the Web site and made several suggestions for changes and updates. In addition, Andrea and Jenn Bender met a week after the board meeting to review the suggestions and draft a plan of work. Once again, I must commend Jenn for taking on the lion’s share of the work. Please watch the site for improved publications, including standardized formats, copyright notices and easier navigation.

We’ve added a free Google site search tool which allows you to search for keywords on the entire site. The search link is available on all the pages. Please visit www.pa.lwv.org and look for the search button on the left-hand menu.
