Dear friends,

On behalf of the League of Women Voters of the Wilkes-Barre Area, I ask you to consider making a financial contribution to help underwrite the Leagues Government Directory and Voters' Guide.

The directory is an annual publication and resource for accessing political contact information with ease. The Board members compile and list the names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of federal, state, county, local, and school board elected officials who serve our area. We print more that 3,000 directories annually and distribute them to the Luzerne County Court House, libraries, and public offices. Private citizens and organizations may also call to have the directory sent to their home or business.

In addition to the Government Directory, the League carries out its mission of providing nonpartisan government services and voter information to the general public free of charge. With concern for the education of our young adults, the league provides numerous discussions and educational opportunities targeted at youth education and the youth vote. The League organizes and moderates public candidate forums, assembles the Voters' Guide published in the Citizens Voice before each election, and hosts an annual legislative breakfast (usually held in January). This breakfast provides a great opportunity for up-close and personal time with our elected officials .

Through grassroots efforts, the League demonstrate that the citizens of the Wilkes-Barre Area are still the driving force behind good government. If you care about the democratic process, please support and help sustain our projects and important mission.
