Project Title: Rain Barrel Workshops
Area to be Protected: Brodhead, Tobyhanna, Aquashicola, Pohopoco, Cherry and Bushkill watersheds and Delaware River
Partner: Monroe County Planning Commission
Focus: hold workshops to educate homeowners and municipal officials in Monroe County how the use of rainbarrels can reduce the amount of nonpoint source pollution in the Brodhead, Tobyhanna, Aquashicola, Pohopoco, Cherry, Bushkill Creeks, and Delaware River watersheds. Rain barrels will be provided at an affordable rate to attendees completing the workshop.

Focus: develop a 12-month Grazing and Pasture Management Planner illustrating Best Management Practices of pasture management that have been shown to be effective at lowering risks of pollution to drinking water supplies.

Focus: survey municipal officials, publish and distribute a stormwater management handbook, develop a website, and host workshops focusing on best management practices aimed at local officials whose efforts include reducing nonpoint source pollution in streams and rivers located in the 10 county region.

Focus: educate about streambank restoration techniques designed to
reduce nonpoint source pollution by establishing an outdoor classroom/learning
center, including educational signs, at a streambank restoration demonstration
site at the high school. The partnership will also produce printed
educational materials and appropriate curriculum packets for teachers.

This campaign will include a "Know Your Watershed" web page, a series
of Stream Facts" fact sheets, and stream name signs at road crossings
of Brodhead watershed streams. The education campaign will seek to
enhance the understanding of citizens and public officials of the
importance and value of the Brodhead Creek and groundwater sources
for public and private water supply and threats to water resources
in the watershed.
