Join a Statewide
Committee

Statewide committees are a great way to get involved with the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania

Committee participation includes board members, representatives from Local Leagues, and active league members

  • The Civic Engagement Committee supports long-term civic participation beyond elections and voting. The committee accomplishes its work through three subcommittees:

    • Vote411 Subcommittee: Strategic planning to expand and strengthen the VOTE411 program across leagues, volunteers, and candidates.

    • DEI Subcommittee: Focuses on promoting equitable access to civic engagement opportunities while embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion in every area of our work.

    • Civic Education Subcommittee: Promotes public understanding of civic participation and community involvement while leading the planning and execution of our Ballot Box Basics webinar series, from topic selection to speaker engagement and event management

  • Representatives participating on the statewide Equity Team are the coordinators for local DEIBA programming. The goal is to build sustainable capacity, for all, support equity work, offer customizable resources, and integrate the use of LWV DEIBA lens and DEIBA policy to League work.

  • The Government Policy committee works on state governmental processes to research and circulate information on important legislative and election issues affecting our state and citizens.

  • The Policy Committee works on all policy issues in alignment with LWVPA and LWVUS stances on issues. The committee covers government, social, and environmental policy, with a primary focus on government and election related policy. The committee is a working committee, meaning that participants take on tasks, including reviewing and drafting documents, and attending meetings on behalf of the League to stay informed and engaged.
