The organization is balanced at every level of leadership, from the national level to local alliances, with equal numbers of Reds and Blues (and also welcomes "purples"). Braver Angels offers community workshops, debates, and structured conversations that give people with different political beliefs the opportunity to listen to each other, find common ground where it exists, and disagree respectfully - and with more understanding - where it doesn’t. They will provide an overview about the work of the organization, explain the “Braver Angels Way”, and introduce a sample exercise. All are welcome to attend.

Voting Rights at Risk: Durational Citizenship in Pennsylvania
A little-known Pennsylvania law could block new U.S. citizens from voting in the May 19 primary. Unlike most states, Pennsylvania requires citizens to be naturalized for at least one month before voting, meaning anyone who becomes a citizen on or after April 20, 2026 may not be able to participate.
Join the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania on April 14 at 6 PM for a webinar with Fair Elections Center to learn what this law means, who it affects, and how it is being challenged. If you are planning to naturalize soon, this session is especially important.
Even if you are not directly affected, it is a crucial opportunity to understand how outdated laws impact voting rights and why protecting those rights matters for everyone.

In the first program of the series, Andrew Bockis, environmental and energy lawyer at Saul Ewing LLP, will provide an overview of how power is provided to our region, why Pennsylvania is a favored location for data centers, and an overview of the legal and regulatory framework for data centers and potential impact to energy costs.

Shaping Union County's Future

Hosted by the League of Women Voters of the Lewisburg Area.

The presentation will also highlight key elements of the plan, including land use, natural and agricultural resources, housing, transportation, economic development, cultural and historic resources, and community facilities and utilities.
