How to Vote by Mail in Pennsylvania

The time is here to request, fill out, and mail your mail-in/absentee ballots! Here is some essential information for voting-by-mail in Pennsylvania.

Requesting a Mail-in Ballot

You can request a mail-in ballot here. The last day to request a mail-in ballot is November 1st at 5pm.

Deadlines for returning your mail-in or civilian absentee ballot:

There are two ways to return a mail-in (aka absentee) ballot:

By mail: Ballots must be received by 8 P.M. on November 8, 2022.  (Postmarked date does not count).

In person: Ballots must be returned to your county board of elections office or other designated location or drop box by 8 P.M. Find a drop off location here

How to complete your mail-in ballot:

  1. Read your ballot instructions carefully and mark your ballot. Be sure to complete both sides.

  2. Seal your ballot in the envelope that reads “official election ballot.”

  3. Seal the inner secrecy envelope in the pre-addressed outer return envelope. Complete the voter’s declaration on the outside of the outer return envelope.

  4. Mail your ballot by November 1st or find your local drop box, county election office. Absentee and Mail-in Ballots must be received by 8 pm on election day at your county election board.

If you plan to mail your ballot, we recommend you do it by November 1 to account for any mail delays.

After November 1, it's best to return your ballot to a drop box or your county election office. Find your local county election office or drop-box location
here.
