Voters should have freedom to choose to vote by mail
In a recent opinion piece for the Times Leader, LWVPA Director of Civic Engagement Brianna Rybka highlighted the need for accessible mail drop boxes and satellite offices in Luzerne County to support voting by mail.
“Our county commissioners have an obligation to do everything they can to remove any barriers to the ballot box. That means expanding the number of secure ballot drop boxes and satellite election offices.
These are not partisan demands. These are practical, common-sense steps that give every eligible voter a fair and meaningful opportunity to participate in our democracy. We should not make people choose between participating in our democracy and navigating unnecessary obstacles to do so,” Rybka wrote.
